The Jets had 3 of these mismatched hub (one chrome one white) track wheels made up with Ambrosio rims but I can only place 2 sets at the moment

For anyone who may not have heard, just to let you know Bill Thomson (Bill T) on the bunch has died.

When I first joined the club and the 30 milers many years ago he used to give me a wee push in the bunch on the hills.

back from the U.S visiting family and seeking a bike to borrow for 2 weeks.

wondering if anyone has a spare road bike, women’s large or approx 55cm frame.

I have pedals and saddle with me.

just wanted to check with the folks most In the know !

An email link was sent on 9th March and the current order deadline is less than 2 weeks away on 6th April. Currently we have 8 orders for the Pro SL Roubaix jacket (P6007 and women’s P6057) and 8 orders for the Pro SL DF Windproof jacket (P6006). There is therefore a chance of receiving the 15% discount on each jacket for orders of 10 or more, especially if the club is willing to order 1 or 2 of each jacket for stock.

The clubrooms will be open between 8 - 9pm this Wednesday 8th March (or longer if necessary) for you to look at the samples and try them on for size. If this is unsuitable please let me know and we can make alternative arrangements.

A form will be available for you to rank your preferences (1st, 2nd or 3rd choice) for those jackets you are interested in, and to record your size. This will help us to finalise the order.

Cost (including VAT) will be £111.60 - £130.80 each depending upon the size of the order, and we're currently awaiting sizing samples to try on. I have made the usual short sleeve jerseys and bib shorts available.

If you would like me to add any other garment, please have a discussion on here with your fellow members. There is generally a minimum order quantity of 5 per garment, so I need to know this is going to be met before I make the garment available for purchase.

For new members, privately send me your full name and email address and I will get Endura login details emailed to you.

LBL revisited

I’ve signed up to revisit LBL next year. I have digs in the nice posh hotel that was used before and will be taking my car over on the ferry.
barring disasters and other unforeseen circumstances I have one space in the car and bike rack available for anyone either going over to ride or spectate. If riding I am doing the full course.

i’m not looking to share costs as I’m going anyway. Perhaps split petrol at most and you pick up any additional ferry costs and your food.

Volunteering UCI World Championship 2023

Hi All

As you may be aware the World Cycling Championship will be in Scotland next August . The Championship consists of male / female able bodied and para championships brining over 8000 athletes to Scotland to race for their rainbow jersey. From MTB , Track , Road you name it it’s in it, it also requires loads of enthusiastic volunteers to help in the running of the event. So this is a heads up that Volunteering application opens online on August 23 . As someone who has done this it’s a great opportunity to get involved with our sport , and to make some new friends and have some fun. So why not apply you will have a skill that will be needed. If you want any more info or have any questions pm me . Please share with anybody you think who will be interested

Does anyone know of or can recommend a mechanic in Glasgow or the surrounding area who can service Chris King hubs?

Mine probably now require a bedding in tweak. My usual go Southside guru doesn't have the necessary tools for the job.

Just posting a follow up to the Whatsapp message - there is an informal APR planned for the Barmill circuit on Saturday, I will be at clubrooms 9.30am to ride along track to Glengarnock for anyone who wants to join. Everyone is welcome and there will be generous time gaps to encourage an early group to stay away !

Good response so far with about 10 confirmed.

Look forward to seeing more on Saturday morning if you can make it.

Have ordered a new bike, with a delivery date now of March ‘22. Have heard stories, from very reliable sources in the cycling world, of lead times now into 2023 for parts.
Anyone else having issues getting kit? Not having a gripe, the new bike will be worth it, just interested in what people are experiencing in the LBS and on the internet.
